BIBA thank Tourism for support during Honk Kong tour

Heads of Bermuda's two economic pillars stood side by side this week as the Bermuda International Business Association thanked the Tourism Ministry for its support in the recent Bermuda Briefing Tour in Hong Kong.

BIBA chairman Mr. Cummings Zuill said Tourism staff were instrumental in putting together and shipping 400 canvas Bermuda tote bags which contained letters of welcome in English and Cantonese, and tourism and business literature.

"The Bermuda bags were a huge hit and were greatly appreciated,'' Mr. Zuill said. "They contained the generic brochure on international business in Bermuda, a Bermuda map, a copy of Tourism's popular "What To Do Brochure'' and the department's travel tips pamphlet.'' Mr. Zuill, who presented a copy of the Bermuda Briefing in Hong Kong programme to Tourism Minister David Dodwell on Monday, noted that Mr. Dodwell will also be a part of the official Bermuda Briefing Tour delegation to visit London and Zurich in January.

The Bermuda Briefing Tour will be held in London on January 30 and in Zurich on January 31.

"The message about the mutually supportive relationship between Bermuda's tourism and international business industries is a critical one to impart to overseas audiences,'' Mr. Zuill said.

"The Tourism Minister's address will be made during the opening sessions in London and Zurich and we are delighted to have his support in this important promotional activity.'' Premier David Saul, Finance Minister Grant Gibbons, as well as representatives from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, the Bermuda Stock Exchange and the insurance industry will also participate in briefing programmes scheduled for London and Zurich.
