Broke in, had a meal, fell asleep
sentence and $500 fine yesterday in Magistrates' court.
Richard Stanley Burrows, 30, of Camp Hill Road, admitted the offence to Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis, and said he had a problem with alcohol.
Police prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles said that on April 25, Burrows went on a drinking spree in St. George's. He then went to Ronald Panchard's house on Broad Alley, and demanded food.
Mr. Panchard refused to feed him.
Sgt. Giles said the next day Mr. Panchard returned home to find three window panes removed from a kitchen window, and the gas stove was on but unlit. The refrigerator was open, and food was on the table and in the microwave. Mr.
Panchard heard snoring coming from his bedroom, and found Burrows lying on the bed asleep, wearing only his underwear.
The spoiled food was valued at about $50.
Mr. Francis fined Burrows $500, and ordered $80 of the fine was go to Mr.
Panchard. He also gave Burrows a six-month prison sentence, suspended for one year.
