Burglars target homes over holiday weekend
over the New Year weekend.
The storage shed of a house in Mission Lane, Paget, was broken into by thieves who stole two panelled windows, a few men's winter coats and a plastic storage bin containing toiletries. The theft was discovered on Friday morning.
And burglars broke into a house during the day on Friday, and made off with an assortment of clothing and men's and ladies jewellery, amounting to hundreds of dollars.
The occupants of the house in West Middle Road, Southampton, were alerted by Police following an attempted break-in at an adjoining house and were asked to check their premises.
When they arrived they discovered a number of items missing, including a linked gold chain with ruby and diamond, a Citizen's watch and sportswear.
A quantity of cash was stolen from the cash register at La Baguette Deli on Burnaby Street in Hamilton overnight on Friday.
And a small amount of cash was taken from the cash box at Bermuda Marine Supply and Services on Pitts Bay Road overnight on Friday.
And Police received a report of jewellery being stolen from a dormitory at Buena Vista in Harbour Road, Paget, overnight on Friday. The items included a gold wrist bracelet, rings and a pendant cross. Another dormitory at the guest accommodation was targeted, but nothing was taken.
And lastly, a 32-inch television was taken from a house in Cox's Lane in Pembroke while the occupant was at home.
The complainant said the burglar, whom he was acquainted with, entered his house and removed the TV, despite attempts to stop him.
