Dion Burgess, of Camp Hill, Southampton, appeared in Magistrates' Court and was fined $100 by Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said that on September 12 this year the manager of the Docksiders pub and restaurant heard a noise from the back yard.

"Three cases of beer had been stolen earlier that night so the manager went outside to check what the noise was,'' said Sgt. Mouchette.

Sgt. Mouchette said the manager saw someone by a refrigerator in the yard.

Burgess was questioned by Police and denied any involvement in taking the three cases of beer but admitted to trying to take the six-pack.
