Led by Information Minister Sen. Mike Winfield and Senate Opposition leader Sen. Alex Scott , they praised the achievements of the former Commissioner, who died on Sunday.

Sen. Winfield recalled his leadership in challenging times, his commitment to Bermudianisation and his popularity.

Sen. Scott said he was a "tough cop'' who served Bermuda well in perilous times.

Sen. Ira Philip (PLP) said Mr. Clark was a man of great dignity and charm, without snobbery.

He never lost touch with the common man, said Sen. Joe Johnson (Ind).
