Magistrates' Court yesterday after pleading guilty to drug charges.

New York City residents Deirdre Geller, Anthony Pelio and Stuart Jay Geller appeared before Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis.

The trio were passengers on a United Airlines flight which arrived on September 12. Inside the terminal, narcotics and customs officers noticed the visitors repeatedly glancing in their direction. Based on this and other observations, an officer approached the three and told them they would be subjected to a search.

When asked by the officers if she was carrying any drugs, Mrs. Geller pulled a plastic bag containing a white powder out of her bra. The substance was later found to be 12 grams of cocaine.

Mr. Francis told the 21-year-old mother that 12 grams was "an awful lot of cocaine for personal use'' and fined her a total of $3,000 for importation and possession.

Geller's brother, Anthony Pelio, was found to have a plastic bag with 2.67 grams of cocaine hidden in his underwear.

Before being fined $500, Pelio, 31, apologised to the court and said that what he had done "was very wrong''.

Stuart Geller, husband of Deirdre Geller, faced three charges. In addition to possession of a controlled drug, the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to intentionally obstructing an officer and using offensive words in a public place.

Police Insp. Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that Geller, who appeared to be intoxicated when he was stopped at the Airport, refused to be searched by attending officers.

Insp. Duffy said he swore at officials and violently resisted their efforts to inspect his person. He told the court that Geller shouted: "I'm an American.

You can't search me. Just put me back on the plane.'' He was eventually handcuffed and forcibly searched. A plastic bag containing 18 Valium tablets was found in one of his pockets. Because he had no prescription for the drug, he was also charged with possession.

Mr. Francis handed down a $300 fine -- $100 for each offence.
