And after having completed an "intense'' course prescribed by the Society of Management Accountants of Nova Scotia Bermuda Chapter, the graduates are now authorised to use the initials CMA behind their names.

Margaret Brown, John Buckley, George Burch, Grace Banach-Danielak, David Dawson, Thomasina Hassell, Christopher Jackson, Denise Kyme, Tamara Lewis, Lori Lines, Stephen Pearce, Lucia Peniston and Michele Turner, were honoured at a graduation luncheon recently.

The luncheon took place at The Princess Hotel, where friends, family, invited speakers and special guests joined in with the "joy and celebration''.

"Their success is something of which they should all be proud,'' said Society President Richard Goodwin.

Keynote speaker Bermuda Electric Light Company president Garry Madeiros added: "This designation (CMA) epitomises the qualifications attributed to you. You have a golden opportunity ahead of you. Grab a hold of it, take advantage of it and enjoy it. Do the job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.'' Recalling memories and a recent class trip to Halifax, Bermuda College CMA programme director Ann Parsons said: "I am without a doubt that these students were the most dedicated students I ever had the privilege to teach.'' Ten other students, who are currently pursuing the CMA programme, were also congratulated for their continuing efforts.

Lynne Devine, Kenneth Joaquin and Kim Field-Laurent recently completed all of the Society's academic criteria and will be awarded the designation CMA after they fulfil the practical aspect of the course.

The Society went on to acknowledge Siobhan Brennan, Christina Davis, Hannah Hill, Lynette Powell, Daniel Soares, William Spriggs Jr., and Tomoko Uchida for completing the pre-professional syllabus.
