Columnist takes aim at Douglas
Bermuda in a forthcoming television programme by a columnist in Britain's biggest selling newspaper.
Columnist Lorraine Kelly said she was puzzled why the celebrity pair wanted to promote the Island on the holiday show Wish You Were Here...? In the tabloid Sun , which sells 3.6 million copies every day, she wrote last week that the couple did not need the money because they were millionaires.
"Despite their endorsement, I can't help thinking that the last thing in the world Michael and Catherine want is for all of us to actually go there,'' she wrote.
"This is a resort for the seriously rich where a drink will cost a tenner and the celebrities will run away like frightened wildebeest if we all decide to pop over on a package deal. Wish You Were Here? No they don't.''
