STUDENTS MAKE LIST EDC BDA Students make list Two young Bermudians have taken their place among a chosen few from US colleges.

Lonelle Bascome and Calisha Simpson have both been inducted into the Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

Eighteen students at their college, American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts, were nominated from 1,900 higher education institutions across the US.

Ms Bascome studies finance and is the daughter of Lonnie and Judith Ann Bascome, of Sandys.

Ms Simpson is the daughter of Calix Todd and Karen Cannonier of Southampton.

She is also a finance major.

MAN BEATEN IN THE FACE CRM Man beaten in the face A Pembroke man was rushed to hospital with facial injuries after he was beaten up by five other men on Sunday afternoon.

Police found the 36-year-old man with blood streaming from his face standing next to a vandalised car at Admiralty House Park, on Spanish Point Road, Pembroke, at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday.

Detectives believe the man confronted someone over a personal issue, but was then attacked by up to five men.

The victim, who has not been named, was later released from the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A 32-year-old St. George's man was arrested in connection with the attack.

Meanwhile, a thief stole money from a bank pouch after breaking into the Bridge House Art gallery on Bridge Street, St. George's, overnight on Saturday.

And thieves broke into a house on Khyber Heights Road, Warwick, sometime on Sunday and stole a "substantial'' amount of cash.

MAN HAD CANNABIS CTS Man had cannabis A young stone mason pleaded guilty yesterday in Magistrates' Court to possession of cannabis.

Danford Lee, 26, of Wilson Lane, Ord Road, told Police he used a little bit after work to help him relax.

Around 5.20 p.m. on Friday, August 25, Lee was stopped near the intersection of Middle Road and Dudley Hill, after uniformed police saw his bike did not have a licence sticker He was questioned and arrested in connection with another matter.

On the ride to the Police station, he confessed he had a manila folder containing some substances in his pocket.

Police found a green-plant like material in the bag, later analysed to be 0.073 grams of the controlled drug cannabis, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Lee was fined $400 by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner.

For $199 plus taxes, travellers can go to Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Washington.

The ticket requires a three day advance purchase and all travel must be completed by March 31, except for Boston.
