Cooley delivers a slice of Christmas cheer
A spirit of giving to his community has prompted a local man to donate hundreds of pizzas to local schools.
Cooley Robinson intends to highlight the fact that many of the Island's schoolchildren go to school without eating breakfast and sometimes they miss lunch.
So for the second year in a row he is donating two slices of pizza to every child in the first three grades at all public primary schools and at the Montessori Academy.
Four Star Pizza has partnered with Mr. Robinson in the effort which will cover more than 1,800 children at 19 schools.
"I was speaking to a teacher who said that some kids come to school without breakfast or even lunch,'' Mr. Robinson said. "I started with six schools last year and now we are up to 19.
"Rather than single out some, we are feeding all in primary one to three and all of St. David's primary because it is a relatively small school,'' he added. "What we're saying is that children are our future and that's where we should put our efforts.
"Usually I do this anonymously but this time I felt that I should come forward. I say during this Christmas season, lets not spoil them with toys but spoil them with attention.'' Mr. Robinson explained the deliveries will be taking place all week to the schools.
