A five-man, four-woman jury yesterday began hearing testimony on the circumstances surrounding the passing of Brian Sherlock to determine how, when and where he met his death.

And if they find that he died as a result of murder or manslaughter, they must also point the finger at the responsible party or parties.

Mr. Sherlock was found lying in a pool of blood in the Dundonald Street car park by a woman during the early hours of May 20, 1994.

The 39-year-old was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital around 6.20 a.m. where doctors unsuccessfully tried to treat his injuries which included numerous stab wounds and head injuries.

The inquest, which could wrap up today, continues this morning before Senior Coroner Will Francis with Crown counsel Nicole Stoneham and Coroner's Officer Sgt. Donald Grant conducting the case.
