Cupid has a tough day!
two-year-old girl receive romantic gifts from an unknown sender.
Concerned parents of the toddler contacted Police Community and Juvenile Services when the rose and stuffed toy Dalmatian arrived at their Smith's Parish home -- apparently for their daughter.
Officers investigated and discovered that the gifts had gone to the wrong address.
Meanwhile Ashley Rego, of Pokiok Crescent, was wondering why she had been forsaken.
Her boyfriend Bruno Terceira had told her to expect a Valentine but she had yet to receive one.
Mr. Terceira, who was off the Island on February 14, had arranged for his school teacher Milton Richardson to make sure the gifts went to his Valentine.
But Mr. Richardson forgot Miss Rego's last name, and then the flower shop delivered the gifts to a similar -- but wrong address -- leaving Miss Rego's two-year-old namesake with the flower and toy dog.
The story came to a happy ending this week, thanks to the Police Services' help, with Designer Flowers coming to the rescue and giving Mr. Terceira another rose and toy dog for Miss Rego.
