Dwayne Leon Trott, 25, gave his name as Trent Wesley Smith when he was stopped on his moped on Middle Road, Paget, last November.
He was yesterday fined $350 for speeding at 69 kph, $100 for having no driving licence and $300 for making false statements.
Trott, of Orchard Grove, Pembroke, told the court his licence had "just expired'' when he was stopped by Police.
But Sgt. Phil Taylor, prosecuting for the Police, said the licence ran out in 1993.
Trott was also banned by Senior Magistrate Will Francis from driving all vehicles except auxiliary cycles for a year.
