Dodwell supports shorts in House
The UBP MP said on Friday that he hoped House of Assembly rules could be changed so men could wear Bermuda shorts in the coming summer.
And Mr. Dodwell said there was still time for the PLP to make their mark on the upcoming Budget.
He said it was possible they could include some of the promises they made in the run-up to the election in the February speech.
Or they could delay the Budget by three months to allow more time to work on it, he said.
If they did not, it would be a UBP Budget and would be recognition that the former Government had done a good job.
Allan Marshall (UBP) called for more people to become reading volunteers at CedarBridge Academy, to help address the issue of illiteracy in the country.
"We all need to acknowledge that we have a problem with some of our children.
Let's stop pointing fingers and let's get off our backsides and do something.'' But Neletha Butterfield (PLP) said her party had been calling on the former Government for years to do something about the situation. She said it was a problem that started at an early age and it was everybody that needed to make a contribution.
