Police prepared for the Festive Season of drinking and driving.

A total of 28 drivers were arrested in November, compared to 22 in October and 26 in November of last year. Of those arrested three were female.

Seventeen people failed the alco-analyser test, one passed and 10 refused to take the test.

The oldest person arrested was 60 and the youngest 23, with most offenders in the 31-40 years age group.

The most common time for drunken driving still appears to be Saturdays between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Vehicles involved included 11 cars, four trucks and 13 bikes.
