Driver caught after chase

additional year yesterday, after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and in a dangerous manner.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Rex Osborne told Magistrates' Court that Herbert George Johnson and another man were seen by a Police patrol driving a car on Parsons Road, Pembroke, at high speeds in the early morning hours of January 17.

When signalled to stop by the officers, the driver continued down the road with the car's indicator lights alternating. The vehicle then swung onto Roberts Avenue on the wrong side of the road, and continued north. When the car came to a stop, the Police pulled alongside and identified the driver as Johnson.

Both men jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to run off, but Johnson was caught soon afterwards.

The Friswell's Hill resident is now disqualified until September, 1995.
