Police are asking that the driver of the car or any witnesses of the accident contact Acting Sgt. Clive Browne at the Traffic Division.

The "aunt'' and "uncle'' turned out to be his parents, Insp. Peter Duffy told Magistrates' Court.

On June 23, Schepis appeared in court, still under his false name, and admitted stealing $2,300 worth of scuba gear from South Side Scuba. He was fined $600 and kept in custody because he could not pay.

Police then received information from the US on Schepis' real identity and discovered he was wanted in two states. He was re-arrested.

On Thursday 35-year-old Schepis admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice and contravening the Immigration Act. Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis jailed him for a month.

"Officers approached Passley and informed him that he would be searched. When searching through his trouser pockets they found 0.48 grams of cannabis in a green envelope,'' Insp. Duffy said.

When asked by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis if he had anything to say, Passley replied: "I'm a casual user. I was caught with the stuff and I pleaded guilty.'' Mr. Francis fined Passley $100.
