Drugs seizure `no' connection with container
marijuana seized in St. David's on the weekend with drugs recently stolen from the custody of Bermuda Customs.
Commenting on media reports last night, Police spokeswoman Insp. Roseanda Jones said: "I don't know where they got their information from.'' The marijuana seizure last Saturday took place at a location on St. David's Road, she said.
She would not confirm or deny reports the marijuana was found hidden on the property of a local school.
Three men were arrested in connection with Saturday's seizure. They included a 52-year-old Pembroke man and two others from St. George's aged 39 and 40.
Last month, a Customs source revealed to The Royal Gazette that some 50 pounds of drugs that had been seized from an incoming container ship by Customs officer was stolen from its custody less than 24 hours later.
The drugs which included marijuana had been locked up for the night at Number 7 shed in Hamilton.
Police confirmed that Customs had reported an overnight break-in at the dock on November 16.
