Eight-year-old girl hit by motorcycle
after she was hit by a motorcycle as she was walking along Khyber Pass in Warwick on Tuesday night.
Police said the girl was apparently walking south when she was struck by the cycle being ridden against the one-way system by an 18-year-old St. George's woman.
The rider received minor road rash and a scratch to the head, while the child sustained a fractured left leg, as well as scratches to the face.
DRIVE-THROUGH CLOSED BUC Drive-through closed Due to major renovations at the Rosebank branch of the Bank of Butterfield, the drive-through facility will be closed today and will reopen on Monday.
Automated teller machines will be available at the entrance to the Rosebank Centre and Saturday banking will be available at the Reid Street branch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
BUSINESSEMAN SUED BUC Businessman sued Legal trouble is not over for Boston businessman Harold Stavisky with the filing of a new writ against him this week.
Details of the new action are not known and lawyer Tim Marshall refused to identify who his client was.
During the 1990s, Mr. Stavisky paid back more than $40,000 to law firm Mello, Hollis, Jones and Martin in legal fees, interest costs and the Official Receiver's fees.
The law firm had sued him for $14,000 in legal fees. The payment annulled an earlier bankruptcy judgment.
He was also convicted of embezzling $150,000 from Hamiltonian Hotel and Island Club investors. He was the company's director.
MAN ADMITS INCEST CTS Man admits incest A 50-year-old Southampton man was bailed for mention in Supreme Court in October after he admitted committing incest against his daughter, sexually exploiting a minor and inciting her to touch him.
The incidents were committed between 1997 and 1998.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied a further charge of sexual assault at Tuesday's arraignment session.
Also bailed for mention in October was a 24-year-old Pembroke man who pleaded not guilty to sexual assault at the arraignment session.
PASSENGER IN HOSPITAL HTH SHI Passenger in hospital A 59-year-old cruise ship passenger was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night after she complained of high blood pressure and anxiety.
Paramedics from Clearwater Fire Station attended the woman on the Norwegian Majesty at Ordnance Island in St. George's at 10.30 p.m.
