Wayne (Hot Dogs) Douglas died in the fire which consumed the lower studio apartment of the Harlem Heights, Hamilton Parish home where he lived with his mother and her grandson.

"The cause of the fire and estimates of the damage done are still being investigated,'' said Lt. John Thompson of the Fire Service.

Three crews with 12 firefighters attended the blaze after receiving a call at 3.56 a.m. on Sunday. A spokesman said that when they arrived, the room was well alight but the inferno was eventually extinguished.

Mr. Douglas had tried to get out of the apartment but was unable to do so.
