Fire Services spokesman Lt. Jon Thompson said six firefighters rushed to the building shortly after 4 a.m. to find smoke coming from it.
Two firefighters, in special breathing apparatus, entered the electrical room via the men's room at the terminal.
An electrical short appeared to have caused the smoke, he said. But there was no fire. The damage was confined to a meter and wire.
A crew from the Bermuda Electric Light Company also attended the scene.

CRM Man hurt on Court St.
A Devonshire man had a tooth knocked out when he was allegedly assaulted by two men on Court Street yesterday morning.
The 26-year-old told Police officers that he was on Court Street talking to a female friend at about 3 a.m. when a man he knew approached him.
The man asked him a question and then attacked him when he did not answer. A second man joined the first in punching and kicking the victim who lost one tooth while another was loosened and his face was bruised.
The incident is being investigated, said Police press officer Evelyn James Barnett.
CAR WINDOW SMASHED CRM Car window smashed A Devonshire man's car window was smashed after he left the vehicle parked outside an Angle Street club.
The 47-year-old owner of the blue Toyota Carina two-door Starlet told Police that he parked it outside the Young Men's Social Club on Saturday night.
When he returned on Sunday morning he found the front driver-side window had been smashed -- apparently by the 15-inch G-clamp that was left in it.
Investigations are continuing, said Police press officer Evelyn James Barnett.
AMERICAN CHARGED CTS American charged A US citizen appeared in court yesterday charged with trying to import cocaine and cannabis into Bermuda.
Edgar Howe, 47, of New York City, is accused of trying to bring the drugs through the Airport on Boxing Day.
He is further charged with having the cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply. He was not required to plead to the charges, which can be tried in the Supreme Court.
Howe, of Clinton Avenue, the Bronx, was remanded in custody for mention on January 13.
