yacht moored off St. George's last night, causing up to $20,000 damage.
Some 29 firefighters were ferried by Marine Police to the Hallelujah , moored at Powder Hole, at 7.55 p.m. after a blaze was discovered in the engine room.
The fire was put out by the vessel's own extinguishing system, and after the engine room was shut down, firefighters stayed on board to ensure the fire did not re-ignite.
No one was injured and there were no other vessels in the immediate vicinity of the Hallelujah , which arrived from Fort Lauderdale yesterday and was due to leave for New York last night.
