5th World Firefighters Games in Durban, South Africa, next week.

The games run from May 17 to May 23 with the local contingent participating in soccer, cycling and running.

The team members have raised funds for their trip through pot luck suppers and car washes while Marshall's Maintenance, Butterfield & Vallis, Metro Mineral Water and Esso Bermuda have chipped in with sponsorship.

The last event attended by a team of local firefighters was in New Zealand when the Bermuda team captured the bronze medal in soccer. BFS spokesman Lt.
