Firemen probe Pembroke blaze
the upper level of a two-storey derelict building in Pembroke on Sunday night.
The partially-wooden structure, on St. Augustine Hill, was the site of a smaller fire two days earlier.
A Fire Services spokesman said the building received only smoke damage on Good Friday after a mattress caught on fire.
But he said the building's entire top level was destroyed by Sunday's fire. A total of 25 firefighters and nine vehicles rushed to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. It took them just under an hour to put out the blaze.
The building's lower level suffered smoke damage.
The property was believed to have been occupied by squatters.
