Gibbons pleased with number of replies to asthma survey

Just over a third of residents in an Islandwide asthma survey responded by Monday's deadline.

Spokesperson for the Health and Family Services survey Leonard Gibbons told The Royal Gazette more than 100 of the approximate 300 surveys sent out to asthma sufferers by the Ministry or collected by patients from the Somerset, Hamilton or St. George's health clinics and the Bermuda Asthma and Allergy Relief Centre have been returned.

And though pleased with the response, Dr. Gibbons said he hoped they would be able to collect at least 200 completed surveys to enable the Ministry of Health and Family Services to gain a more accurate picture of asthma in Bermuda.
