The proclamation was hand delivered on Thursday night to Premier Gordon during a tourism reception held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The presentation was made by Councellor at Large Doug Alexander, who was standing in for Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, who was expected later in the evening.

Ms Gordon reciprocated with a book of Bermuda photographs. The reception capped a first-time effort by tourism officials to piggy back a marketing initiative to the annual RIMS (Risk & Insurance Management Society, Inc.) conference which wound up on Thursday.

The reception included invited guests from around Atlanta, including business and travel executives.

Department of Tourism officials based in Atlanta, New York and Bermuda, were also on hand.
