Household items for sale at Marriott
of the former Marriott Castle Harbour Hotel said last night.
And -- unlike the previous sale where hotel rooms were sold complete -- lots will be broken down into individual items.
A spokesman for Mailboxes Unlimited, which is handling the sale, said the recent sale of whole rooms had resulted in 250 sales and raised nearly $1 million.
The spokesman said: "A lot of people said they wanted a lamp or something else, not a whole room. So we've broken down 150 rooms and items can be bought individually.
"At the last sale, we had 6,000 people come through in three days and sold nearly a million dollars worth of inventory.
"It's the biggest second-hand sale in the history of the Country and we expect a lot of interest in the next few days.'' The contents of the 150 rooms will be up for grabs in the Castle Harbour's main ballroom between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today, with the sale continuing every day between the same times over successive days until the goods have gone.
