Hunt continues for alleged double rapist

Police have received a host of calls from the public as they hunt for a man in connection with an alleged double rape.

And last night a spokesman said they expected "some resolution'' in the investigation over the next few days.

A manhunt was launched on Sunday after reports that two women friends were subjected to a terrifying knife-point rape and abduction late on Saturday night.

Police reports said the women were also driven around the Island and forced to withdraw cash from an ATM machine during the two-hour ordeal.

The incident started at the Smith's Parish home of one of the women, where a man is alleged to have broken in and raped the women. The second lady was then forced into a car with the first victim. After driving around they were driven back to the home where the second female was raped by the man.

The incident only ended when one of the women managed to escape, after being driven to Court Street.

Last night, Police renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward with information.

They are particularly interested in anyone who may have seen a car carrying a black male and two white women, near the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club on North Shore Road, Tiffany's Twenty Four 7 at the junction of Court and Dundonald streets, and the Swizzle Inn.
