Despite losing a bit of steam early Monday morning, Edouard regained its Category 4 punch by mid-morning and was last reported moving at 12 knots about 1,000 nautical miles south-east of Bermuda at latitude 18.6 degrees north, longitude 55.0 degrees west, packing 120-knot winds, with gusts to 140 knots.

And Bermuda Weather Service is now predicting the south shore will see five- to eight-foot seas outside the reef by tomorrow. Inside the reef seas are expected to reach four feet.

Edouard is still expected to pass somewhere between the Bahama Islands and Bermuda by Thursday, bringing the hurricane to within 560 nautical miles south of Island. And if it keeps to its current track, said meteorologist Dave Forbes, Edouard could make landfall on the Georgia or Carolina coast by the Labour Day weekend.
