Insecticide spray causes blast

A Police spokesperson said the explosion took place on North Shore Road in Devonshire around 9.30 p.m. on Monday.The occupant was trying to kill a cockroach which crawled behind a stove.

The occupant was trying to kill a cockroach which crawled behind a stove.
The man sprayed insecticide behind the gas stove, near the oven pilot light, causing an explosion.
Two fire trucks and six personnel attended the fire. A Fire Service spokesperson said a six-foot glass sliding door was damaged in the blast and that a man received superficial cuts to his arm.
Estimated damage was around $600.
No-one else was injured in the explosion.
