Jesus the bull in a spot of bother!
The question is causing much snorting and stamping of feet down on Controversy Lane.
The black and white bull, owned by farmer Mr. William (Sonny) Bascome, is accused of rampaging through the yard of neighbour Mr. John Pacheco.
The first time Mr. Pacheco chased the beast off with a stick, striking it in a bull's most valuable assets.
Then this weekend it charged his car, crunching a back light with a horn and causing scratches and dents to the bodywork.
Mr. Pacheco is beefing about almost $700 worth of damage to his Mazda.
"I'm not too happy,'' he says. "I don't know what's going to happen. He could do something bad next time.'' But Mr. Bascome denies his two-and-a-half-year-old bull is dangerous. "I raised him from three days old,'' he says. "I call him Jesus, that's how gentle he is.'' He says intruders have been deliberately setting the animal loose at night, allowing it to roam the Spanish Point neighbourhood.
"Somebody pulled up the pipe he was tethered to, pulled him to the gate and released him. I found the pipe outside the gate.'' Mr. Bascome even takes visitors to meet the bull to demonstrate its friendliness.
"This is no BS,'' he says.
