Judges back land register
there was a "crying need'' for a register of land titles.
Mr. Perinchief said such a register was commonplace in other countries, yet Bermuda did not have one.
But he noted that Government was currently charged with the task of compiling one.
Mr. Perinchief made the complaint in arguing for the admission of new evidence in a boundary dispute case which dates back to 1974.
He said he had recently become Mr. John Nathaniel Darrell's lawyer and had had a new survey of the land in dispute conducted which was in his client's favour.
But the court refused his application, saying Mr. Darrell's other lawyers could have ordered a survey of the Riviera Estates, Southampton land.
But it agreed to hear an appeal against a Supreme Court ruling that Mr.
Darrell's land boundary did not extend the 30 feet he claimed.
