Barbara and William Roberts will return to Magistrates' Court for further mention on January 31 after their lawyer Richard Hector said on Wednesday that he was waiting for more information from prosecutors.

Papers have already been served on the couple who are charged with being concerned with others not before the court and possessing $1.5 million worth of cocaine intended for supply.

Barbara Roberts, 59, and her 71-year-old husband William are also alleged to have knowingly handled cocaine intended for supply and possession of 36 plastic bags, kitchen scales and a knife in connection with a controlled drug.

Mr. Hector told the court that there was additional material the prosecution had in its possession which it was not using in its case and he required it as it could aid his defence.

Senior Magistrate William Francis extended the couple's $150,000 bail to January 31 when he ordered them to return to court. Mr. Hector will elect which course he wishes to pursue -- either a short or long form preliminary inquiry -- then.
