HODGSON PONDERS RAILWAY TRAIL PLAN CTS Hodgson ponders Railway Trail plan Environment Minister Arthur Hodgson is pushing for the Railway Trail to be designated park land.
The Minister said it would help him in his plan to link up the broken bits of the trail.
And people will find it tougher to get private rights of way.
Mr. Hodgson said: "When it's park land you don't get too many applications of right of way. But applications can still be granted. It will be maintained as park land.'' He said his department, which has just taken over the trail from Works and Engineering, would be more able to get funds for its maintenance once it was park land.
