Licence warning over nail guns
for possessing nail guns, stud guns and similar power tools operated by compressed air.
Several cases of people importing compressed air nail guns without appropriate licences had come to light recently, Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said.
"It is an offence to be in possession of these tools without a licence and we recommend that persons intending to import such equipment should apply or inquire whether a licence is required,'' he added.

Darleen P. Wolffe, of Mount Hill, denied charges in Magistrates' Court yesterday that she -- with the intent to defraud -- obtained $10,500 from the Bank of Butterfield by presenting and depositing five personal cheques drawn on an account held by her in Philadelphia and falsely pretended they were good and valid cheques between April 30 and June 12.
Wolffe also pleaded not guilty to obtaining $10,200 from the Bank of Bermuda by presenting and depositing two personal cheques drawn on the same account in Philadelphia and falsely pretending that they were good and valid cheques between June 20 and July 10 in Sandys Parish.
Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King granted Wolffe bail in the sum of $3,000 with two like sureties. And he ordered her to surrender all travel documents.
Wolffe will stand trial on April 2.

Nancy L. Cormier, 31, of Massachusetts, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing cannabis and equipment for the use of the controlled substance.
Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Customs officers found the cannabis, pipes and cigarette papers in a grey suede bag in Cormier's luggage after she arrived at the airport on October 7.
MAN DENIES STEALING PAPERS CTS Man denies stealing papers A 45-year-old Pembroke man will go on trial next month for allegedly stealing 60 copies of The Royal Gazette newspapers.
Derrick E. DeShields, of Angle Street, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court to charges of stealing -- along with another person who was not before the court -- $48 worth of newspapers from the Supermart in Hamilton on August 26.
Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King released DeShields on $200 bail.
His trial begins on November 17.
CAR HITS WALL AC Car hits wall Police are investigating an accident which occurred shortly after midnight yesterday in Sandys Parish.
A Toyota Corolla travelling west on Malabar Road, near the junction with Kitchener Road, collided with a coral wall, travelled onto the grass verge and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The 26-year-old male driver escaped injury, but extensive damage was caused to the car.
The driver claimed that another vehicle caused him to take evasive action.

SHED BURNS DOWN FIR Shed burns down Firefighters had to put out a fire that destroyed an old shed yesterday afternoon after a controlled burn got out of hand.
The owner of the shed on Hill Dale near Hermitage Road in Smith's Parish lit the blaze, which got out of control.
Firefighters were called to the 20-foot by 20-foot shed at 12.30 p.m. and had the fire knocked down by shortly after 1 p.m.
Four vehicles and 12 personnel were called to the scene. The shed had no value.
