Vaughn G. Fleming, of Smith's Avenue, pleaded guilty "with an explanation'' to the charge in Magistrates' Court.

Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Police were called to the scene of a domestic dispute at the Fleming household on Wednesday.

Sgt. Grant said Fleming ran with the machete along Smith's Avenue. He stopped at Khyber Pass, Warwick and began to wave the machete in the air while a small crowd began to gather.

When Fleming was ordered by Police to drop the machete, he ran off down the road.

Police chased Fleming and captured him. He was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.

But Fleming told Senior Magistrate Will Francis: "My brothers were beating the crap out of me in my yard for not doing the dishes.'' And he said they beat him with their fists and a pipe.

"I'm sorry that it happened and it will never happen again,'' he added.

It was revealed that it was Fleming who called Police to the scene after he was attacked.

Mr. Francis told Fleming: "It's obvious that you have problems, and I hope that everything gets straightened out.''
