Anthony Brown, of Riviera Estate, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to obstructing Police officers on May 13.
Crown counsel Lesley Basden said Police officers approached Brown at Southampton Rangers Cricket Club around 5.30 p.m. and asked for his name.
Brown told the officers that his name was Avon Brown.
It was discovered there were a number of warrants up for Avon Brown and Brown was taken to the Hamilton Police Station.
He later told Police he had given them the wrong name.
When asked by Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King why he had given a false name Brown said "every time they come around they harass me, so I thought I'd try something different''.
