Customs officers attempted to search him.

Details were sketchy yesterday afternoon but it is understood that the man arrived on a mid-day flight and was proceeding through the Customs area of the airport when he was stopped by Customs officers.

The officers apparently told the man that he would be subjected to a search at which point he bolted out of the building and ran toward the Airport dump.

When the officers finally caught up with him they found him to be soaking wet.

A search of the man did not find any drugs in his possession.

A spokeswoman for Customs said the matter was still under investigation and a report was being prepared.
