Man is attacked by five men in jeep
robbing him this week.
The man told Police he was walking on Water Street in St. George's when a jeep carrying five men drew alongside him.
He said the occupants began to racially abuse him and one of them struck him on his head with a bottle and ripped a gold chain from around his neck.
The man said he lashed out at the men with his crash helmet, but they drove off with his neck chain, leaving him dazed and with a deep cut on his forehead.
The man received treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and was later released.

Chae L. Simmons, of Talavera Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to assaulting David Leverock and causing him bodily harm.
Prosecuting, Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that on May 4 at 11 a.m.
Simmons, who is a student at the St. George's Secondary School, confronted the complainant, who is also student at the school, near the guidance counsellor's office.
"The two boys argued over a fight that occurred the day before with the complainant and Simmons' cousin,'' Sgt. Grant said.
He added that Simmons then hit Leverock on the head with the metal bat.
"The complainant was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated for severe swelling to the side of his head.
When questioned by Police, Simmons said he was sorry but he "just lost it''.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis bailed Simmons in the sum of $500 until the reading of a social inquiry report.
TEENAGER ATTACKED BY MACHETE MAN CRM Teenager attacked by machete man Police are investigating an attack on a 17-year-old from St. George's.
The victim said a man approached him with a machete without provocation on Cut Road last Thursday evening.
A struggle ensued and the victim received deep lacerations to his fingers as he tried to grab the machete from the man.
He was later treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and released.
YOUTSH HIT 63-YEAR-OLD MAND WITH ROCK CRM Youths hit 63-year-old man with rock A group of youths attacked a 63-year-old man after he tried to stop them from being disruptive outside of his home.
Police said about a dozen youths gathered near the man's Sandys residence and continued to ride a motorcycle back and forth.
"The man asked them to stop,'' a Police spokesman said, "They did briefly, and then returned to the same behaviour. The man again approached them and asked them to discontinue it.'' But when the man turned away from the youths to go back into his house, one of them threw a rock at him, hitting on the head and causing him shock and minor injuries.
Police were still investigating the incident.
ROBBED MOM'S PIGGY BANK, SENT TO JAIL CTS Robbed mom's piggy bank, sent to jail A 32-year-old Pembroke man who stole $500 from his mother's piggy bank was yesterday jailed for 18 months.
Maurice Arthur Russ Burrows, of Friswell's Hill, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing and causing wilful and unlawful damage.
Burrows claimed he offered to repay his mother, but she refused to accept the money, Mr. Ward heard.
He was also told that Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis sent Burrows' case to the Supreme Court because of Burrows' criminal record for similar offences.
In a report from Mr. Francis, he noted that while Burrows gave the impression of being mentally unstable, his testimony had proven "this was an attempt to mislead the court''.
Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Austin Ward sentenced Burrows to 18 months for stealing and four months for damaging the door. The sentences are to run concurrently.

In one of the incidents, a 29-year-old Devonshire woman left her handbag in her car while she visited a restaurant in Southampton.
When she returned the bag was gone.
