Magistrates' Court yesterday.

George Keith Joell, of North Shore Road in Pembroke was spotted by Police as they turned onto Church Street late in the afternoon of April 10.

He was holding a brown paper bag containing a bottle. He placed the bag and bottle upright in a trash can as Police approached. He then reached into the trash can again and tipped the bag over. An officer grabbed his hand as he did so.

The bag was found to contain a bottle of Elephant beer with some alcohol left inside. Magistrate William Francis fined him $150.
