Link for Tourism Professionals will hold its first public event at the Oasis night club between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.

The event's goals are to bring together people from all levels in the industry together to have fun, learn more about the group, and have the opportunity to join as members.

Group spokesman Andrew Trinder told The Royal Gazette : "We are hoping for a couple of hundred people to turn out. It is for all hospitality workers -- anyone in the industry.

"The social element where we get people together will generate better interest among those in the industry.

"Hopefully it will also get young people interested in being involved in the industry.'' The new industry group is comprised of hospitality employees and managers.

Its mandate is to create social and learning opportunities for people within the industry and encourage young people to get excited about tourism.

Further social events will be held to help bring industry members together for networking and building morale.
