Mother joins inquiry call

Cindy Bennett said that sooner or later the Island will have to hold the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings surrounding the 17 year old's death up for public scrutiny.
But if it does not, she warned that the Island could find itself facing a law and order crisis.
"I think they will (hold an inquiry), I still have some faith that Bermuda is going to do the right thing over this,'' she said, speaking from her Belleville, Ontario home last night.
"If Bermuda keeps sticking its head in the sand, it will end up like Jamaica -- because without all the money and banking it would be going downhill fast.'' And Mrs. Bennett said she was unsure whether to give her backing for an Island boycott campaign, initially called for via a website following the collapse of the trial last December.
The boycott, which received hundreds of e-mails, was later suspended but organisers are standing by to start it again if the Middleton family give the go ahead.
Visitor numbers from Canada also dropped following the acquittal and Tourism officials mounted a PR campaign in a bid to redress the balance.
