Jamal Bailey, 17, and Percy Anderson, 30, both received serious head injuries in the accident which occurred shortly after 7.15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said the accident occurred just after 7.15 a.m. when Mr. Bailey, from Southampton, was travelling west on Middle Road, near Spicelands Riding Centre and was believed to have been trying to overtake a bus.

The youth's bike collided with another Yamaha cycle that Mr. Anderson, from Warwick, was riding. He was travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr. Bailey and Mr. Anderson were rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where they have remained since.
