men accused of the murder of Jermaine Pitcher in February.

Ryan Ball, Keneil Ingham, and Jamal Robinson deny killing Mr. Pitcher early that day outside the Champion's Nightclub.

Director of Public Prosecutions Khamisi Tokunbo said the original trial date of September 13 was "optimistic''.

During the hearing, under questioning by Mr. Justice Ward, Robinson admitted that he did not have a lawyer and did not intend to get one.

Meanwhile, the three men accused of robbing taxi driver Warrington (Soup) Zuill will be sentenced at the end of the month.

Ricardo Denbroke, Andrew Hayward, and Austin Mello, of St. George's and Devonshire, have pleaded guilty to beating and robbing Mr. Zuill on July 9.

Following their sentencing on October 31, Michael Ameshak Jones will be sentenced for attacking a man on Court Street in July.

Shaki Kenyatta Weeks has appeared in the Supreme Court on charges that he stole a 500 pound safe containing $3,500 in cash and cheques from the Pirates Landing restaurant on Christmas Eve.

Currently being held on remand at Westgate Correctional Facility, Weeks had to be told to "stand up straight and show some respect for the courts'' by Supreme Court Registrar Charles-Etta Simmons.

Weeks, of Sandys, pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering the restaurant between December 23 and 24 and stealing the safe, cash, cheques, and other paperwork.

He also denies receiving the stolen items which belong to owner Fosco Nanini.

Weeks will be brought back before the court on December 1st to set a trial date.

Keith Neville Bean was further bailed until December 1st to get a trial date for causing grievous bodily harm to a co-worker.

Mr. Tokunbo said Bean's next appearance was "expected to be rather short''.

Bean is 34 and lives on Somerset Road, Sandys and was cleared by a jury earlier this year of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The jury deadlocked on the lesser charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

Gareth Randolph Bean will go on trial on March 1st for assaulting a man in the early hours of November 11, 1998. Bean, of Cochrane Road, Sandys is free on bail.

Phyllis Burchall, 43, will be sentenced on October 31 for dishonesty and fraud offences totaling $48,000.

Burchall, of Ocean Avenue, Warwick, denies dozens of counts of stealing between April 1998 and June of this year.

She was remanded in custody by a magistrate in August when he found that his sentencing powers of up to one year were not enough in light of the seriousness of the crime.
