Pearman prevails in last round

Entering the last day with a one-shot lead, Trott, assistant pro at the Southampton Princess, could manage only a four-over-par 76 compared to Pearman's 72.
Defending champion Pearman thus retained the title he won last year and throughout most of the 1990s.
The Ocean View pro's 72-hole total was 295 compared to Trott's 298. Twenty shots further back in third place was Derrick Douglas on 318.
Frankie Rabain, third overnight, slipped to sixth after a disappointing 86.
