PLP youth hold `vote' rally
Wednesday, focussing on 18-year-olds being able to vote for the first time in the upcoming general election.
The rally, entitled "The Youth Challenge And The Youth Vote -- Who And How Will It Be Addressed?'', will consist of panelists chosen from those who submit their viewpoints on the topic prior to the event.
The general public, particularly young people, are invited to give oral and written submissions on the topic by contacting the PLP office at 292-2264.
"Everyone will be given an opportunity to participate,'' a press release from the group stated. "Progressive Youth looks forward to an interesting and lively event with music, audience participation and a question and answer period.
"Progressive Youth want to make sure that the youth vote is counted and that politicians are made aware of the concerns of young people.'' The rally will take place from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m.
