Police are investigating a pair of handbag snatches which took place in broad daylight on Monday.
One involved a 77-year-old woman who was pushing her pedal cycle along Long Bay Lane in Somerset at around 3.45 p.m.
A man approached her and asked for money. When she refused, the man snatched her handbag from the bike's rear basket and ran away.
The 30-year-old suspect was later located and arrested in Flatt's Village.
Enquiries are continuing into the incident.
Earlier, a 48-year-old Hamilton Parish woman had her bag snatched at around 12.30 p.m. as she prepared to get into her car which was parked on Gorham Road.
She told Police that a motor cycle approached her from behind and as she bent over to pick up her keys, which she had dropped, the rider pushed her up against a parked car and tore her bag from her shoulder and rode away.
Witnesses are asked to call Central CID at 295-0011.
MAN HURT IN ACCIDENT AC Man hurt in accident A 27-year-old Southampton man was listed in stable condition in a general ward of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital yesterday after a Monday night bike accident.
Police attended the accident at Khyber Pass in Warwick shortly before 9 p.m.
The man had apparently lost control of his cycle and sustained serious head injuries so he was taken to hospital.

WOMAN REPORTS THEFT CRM Woman reports theft A 46-year-old Hamilton Parish woman reported the theft of her knapsack from her car.
The woman said she parked her car outside a friend's house in Smith's Parish at about 5.40 p.m. on Monday while she went to pick up her child.
She returned about ten minutes later to find that her knapsack containing credit cards, a tape recorder and cosmetics had been stolen.
