Police cadet dismissed
internal investigation that concluded he was "unlikely to become an efficient Police officer.'' Police Commissioner Mr. Lennett Edwards confirmed the dismissal of the recruit, who had nearly completed the 16-week training course.
"A young Police cadet was dismissed on grounds that he was unlikely to become an efficient Police officer,'' he said.
The Commissioner said the cadet's offences were discovered by the Police and considered very serious.
Mr. Edwards, who could not name the cadet, could only say the offence involved "infringements'' of the Road Traffic Act.
Two sources told The Royal Gazette that the cadet was dismissed in part because he had driven daily to training classes while under a driving suspension.
Mr. Edwards said he was satisfied with the dismissal recommendation of the investigating officer.
