Bits of a vertebrae were recovered in the same waters which yielded a similar discovery.

Earlier this month a couple of visitors aboard the charter boat Restless Native got more than they bargained for while snorkelling off Deep Bay, Pembroke.

The two men discovered a skull and various other leg bones lying in about three feet of water about 20 yards from the north shore.

Marine Police were called to the scene behind Admiralty House on June 4 and recovered the remains.

Police had said the bones -- which were yellowed and appeared to be aged -- were thought to be human.

Yesterday Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning confirmed that the remains were human bones and said they were being examined by a pathologist.

And P.c. Venning revealed that Police divers had returned to the site and uncovered parts of a vertebrae.
