Police get new pact

of talks with Government. The revised collective agreement runs from October 1, 1991, to September 30, 1993.

Police officers' salaries will rise in line with those of other groups of public servants. Certain allowances have also gone up.

A BPA spokeswoman said: "When the full formal agreement has been signed more details will be issued. This course of action was agreed to by both the Government and our association.'' The BPA, which represents officers up to the rank of chief inspector, had wanted 38 negotiating points settled.
